The Player of the Week is Jenice Cepeda (Blue #9) representing the 28th Precinct team. As a 5'11½" amazon on the volleyball court, Jenice was the guiding force closing out the first match of the night with 4 aces and 6 kills, including 3 kills in the third and final set, in a win over the 26th Precinct - Community Affairs Bureau team, 25-9, 23-25, 15-6.
Currently in the 8th grade at The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School in Washington Heights, NY, Jenice is a four-year captain on the Girls' Volleyball team and a two-year varsity Center on Girls' Basketball team. Playing the Outside Hitter position on the TEP Charter School Girls' Volleyball team, Jenice and her team are the current three-time defending New York City Charter School Athletic Association (CSAA) Junior High School, Region 2 Fall Volleyball champions (Fall 2015, Fall 2016, Fall 2017).
In Fall 2018, Jenice will be attending Frank McCourt High School in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NY. She is a fan of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers.
