Player of the Week:
Alyjah Hill (#2 green) "shot the lights out" with 17 points, including three 3-pointers for the 101st Precinct in a convincing win over the 102nd Precinct, 55-40, in the Queens South league opener. Alyjah is currently a junior attending Capital Christian Academy. Although it's his first year on the boys' basketball varsity team, Alyjah prides himself as an accurate long distance shooter and a reliable free throw shooter when he's on the basketball court. Alyjah's favorite athlete is two-time NBA scoring champion and 2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook. His favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers and his favorite movie is Scary Movie 2.
Cop of the Week:
In the second game of the night, Police Officer Odalis Rodriguez (#11 brown) from the 60th Precinct scored a game-high 18 points to lead the 103rd Precinct in a highly contested win over the 113th Precinct, 49-42. Nicknamed "The Big O" by PO Lamont Anderson, PO Rodriguez is a high school graduate of The High School of Telecommunications, Arts, and Technology and a college graduate of Brooklyn College, where he was part of "The Money Team," who won the 3-on-3 Intramural Basketball Men's Division Championship in Fall 2012. In this picture, he is flanked on his left by Luisanny Molina, Domestic Violence Advocate from the 101 Precinct. She is a college graduate of Binghamton University, Class of 2018.
