In the second week of Cops and Kids Volleyball in the Queens South Division, YSD (Youth Services Division) (baby blue) won the match in a 3-set thriller over 102 PCT (maroon), 2-1 (25-8, 20-25, 25-22). In the opening set of the match, both teams were finding their footing and were adjusting to the pace of play, the agility of the athletes, and the velocity of the volleyball on the court. The Armory defeated the defending champs Florence E Smith Center in a close game 69-68. Deyvid Taveras of the Armory was named the MVP of the game, he finished with a game high 17pts. The game was a back and forth tight game from beginning to start. At halftime the score was 38-37 with Florence E Smith in the lead.  With the help of point guard Tyler Hicks and Taveras leading the way the Armory was able to secure the lead and the win. Congrats to both teams on a great performance in the championship.

The Bronx are the 2018 Cops and Kids City-wide Champions

The Bronx defeated Brooklyn North on Saturday at St Francis College and were crowned the 2017-2018 Cops and Kids Citywide champions. The game was a close game for most of the game but the Bronx turn their defense up another notch and forced Brooklyn North turnovers. Tilquan Rucker, the game MVP, was the beneficiary of those turnovers. Rucker had three steals in the second half that lead to fast break points and open the lead up for the Bronx.
