The PAL Armory are crowned The 2018 PAL Intramurals Champions

The Armory defeated the defending champs Florence E Smith Center in a close game 69-68. Deyvid Taveras of the Armory was named the MVP of the game, he finished with a game high 17pts. The game was a back and forth tight game from beginning to start. At halftime the score was 38-37 with Florence E Smith in the lead.  With the help of point guard Tyler Hicks and Taveras leading the way the Armory was able to secure the lead and the win. Congrats to both teams on a great performance in the championship.

The Bronx are the 2018 Cops and Kids City-wide Champions

The Bronx defeated Brooklyn North on Saturday at St Francis College and were crowned the 2017-2018 Cops and Kids Citywide champions. The game was a close game for most of the game but the Bronx turn their defense up another notch and forced Brooklyn North turnovers. Tilquan Rucker, the game MVP, was the beneficiary of those turnovers. Rucker had three steals in the second half that lead to fast break points and open the lead up for the Bronx. The Final Stage is set for Saturday: Brooklyn North vs Bronx

The 5th seed Brooklyn North will play the 7th seed Bronx in the finals at St Francis College on Saturday, March 31st. Brooklyn North defeated Manhattan North in the semifinals to punch their ticket to the finals. The Bronx were able to get pass a very strong Queens South team to make it to the finals this year. This year's finals should make for a very entertaining finals with both teams having their share of high flying dunkers and solid guard play.

The Sports and Recreation Dept would like to announce the Cop of the Week honors goes to Police Officer Shaun Bertin (#14) from the 30th Precinct. Sharing a team-high 14 points for Manhattan North, Bertin was the proverbial "immovable object" with his offensive rebounds & tip-in scores, his robust post defense, and his positioning of teammates on the perimeter as "the anchor of the defense" in a highly competitive and tight 45-43 win over the 109th Precinct, the Queens North representatives.    Bertin is
