The 2017 Winter Basketball Classic

The Sports and Recreation Dept would like to thank Detective Francisco P. Rijo of the Patrol Borough Manhattan North for another successful season of Winter Basketball Classic at PS 192. Congratulations to all of the teams that participated and made this season a memorable one. Thank you to all the volunteer officers who took time out to assists in any way that they could as well.

Annual Councilman Cabrera All Star Game

The annual Councilman Fernando Cabrera All Star Game took place at MS 390 last night.  Councilman Cabrera couldn't make the game due to being under the weather but was represented by his son on his behalf. Team MS 390 won both games by the score of 56-38 and 52-47. The first game had a very nice pace to it but the second game had more entertainment value. Team Cabrera was coming off a bad loss in the first game and they came out firing on all cylinders from the start of the second. Team Cabrera had momentum

The 2017 PAL Citywide Intramural Championship is set!

The Sports and Recreation Department would like to announce that the PAL 2017 Citywide Intramural Championship is set to return to St Francis College (BK) on April 8th 2017 at 10am. The Intramural season has been running within numerous of our PAL locations throughout the five boroughs and the playoffs matches were played as well amongst each borough's champion. We are currently down to the Final Four which will be played on Thursday April 6th, with the winners of both semifinal matchups looking to face off

A Great Night of Discussions and Basketball

On March 22nd the Brooklyn Nets hosted the second session of the Big Brother Big Sister/PAL/NYPD/Brooklyn DA's office mentorship program at the Barclays Center. The program's focus is getting the youth of the community to sit and chat with active NYPD officers about different topics and scenarios. The teens and the officers were split into groups and were given scenarios to discuss among each other.
